Film brief Outline & Style ' What-If ' the Feature film
For over 90 years the bright lights of Hollywood and the dream of Fame and success have drawn starry eyed actors and actresses and those behind the camera to like the Stunt Performers. And Kevin and Dave are no different. They are two hapless movie stuntmen working on low-budget movie productions in Ireland far from their Hollywood dream. For Kevin and Dave those high-falls off buildings and castle walls were fun in their early twenties, but now 15 years in the business, their bodies are saying its time to stop. Kevin and Dave are now stuck working on a succession of tottering and under-financed productions. Their bodies tired scared and broken, they soldier on. Dave is smitten with an almost dangerously obsessive self-belief. The world has yet to discover what a brilliant screenwriter he could be, if given half a chance. Kevin on the other hand is half prepared to face up to reality and keeps a steadying, avuncular eye on his best mate. Despite himself, Kevin will get occasionally sucked into Dave’s off-the-wall script ideas. There lucky break if you can call it that comes when they are fired by the studio and replaced by the young Hi Teh stunt performer. Unable to find work, Dave comes up with an idea What-If we write our own movie, all we have to do is get it to an A-List actor. And the adventure begins.
